A Power-Assisted Bicycle is an electric bike or motorcycle that meets specific federal requirements under Canadian law. To qualify as a PAB, the vehicle must:

• Have a motor output of 500W or less
• Be governed to a maximum speed of 32km/h
• Have functional pedals

What is an LSM?

A Limited Speed Motorcycle is a vehicle that travels between 32km/h and 70km/h. LSMs require:

• A valid motorcycle licence (Class 6 in BC)
• Insurance through ICBC
